In the novel… “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen The main character is going somewhere. Brian Robeson stared out the window of the small plane at the endless green northern wilderness below. It was a small plane, a Cessna 406 a bush plane and the engine was so loud, so roaring and consuming and loud, that it ruined any chance for conversation. (1) Brian Robeson was heading somewhere. I know this because he is in a small plane either too visit his dad or go somewhere important.

The character Alexia made a significant change because of a critical moment in the novel Because of Mr. Terupt, by Rob Buyea. Before Alexia's major change, she was bossy, insecure, and a bully, who had no filter and was inconsiderate about her friend's feelings. One day Mr. Terupt took Alexia out into the hallway to scold her for being so mean and bossy towards her holiday group. As Mr. Terupt was scolding Lexi, she started crying and suddenly Mr. Terupt asserted, “I'm telling you the truth, and the truth can hurt,” (Buyea 90). For the first time ever Alexia hears what someone else actually thinks of her, and this makes her very upset.
“Is fate getting what you deserve, or deserving what you get?” (Jodi Picoult). Ethan Frome, written by Edith Wharton in 1911, embodies this quote. Ethan and Mattie had an inappropriate relationship behind Ethans significant other, Zeena 's, back which caused each of them to be emotionally distraught.

This summer I read Bridge to terabithia, it’s a book about intellectual and emotional courage. In the book, two friends create the magical land of terabithia while facing the real world. This book is mainly about intellectual and emotional courage because that is what is demonstrated in the most important scenes of the book. I think the biggest act of courage in the book is when Jesse overcame the loss of Leslie, his friend. In the quote above, Jesse is talking to his little sister and crowning her queen after Leslie died.
