I am deeply honored and humbled to be among the brilliant and best students who are being considered for the NHS. I have been looking forward to this opportunity since I was accepted at Brophy. I know that National Honor Society does great things in our world today. I was a part of National Junior Honor Society at Saint Theresa Catholic School and that that has had a huge impact on the person I am today. I believe that I exemplify the four pillars of National Honors Society, those being character, scholarship, leadership, and service.

The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. I did a lot of research and asked a few people about what I would need to take part in this group. “The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation 's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.”

It insists that I have been industrious throughout the past three years of high school– which I take great pride in. I have always shown my best even through my struggles.
It is an honor to be nominated for the National Honor Society. The fact that I was nominated proves to me that all of my hard work and dedication has not been for nothing. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students who strive to achieve their best not only in school but in themselves and the community. I believe that I’m one of those students. Based upon my last two year at Matawan Regional I now have a 3.9 GPA and am ranked in the top 20% of my graduating class.
Purpose: To highlight and bring recognition to Enrollment Advisors who impact the department on a daily basis through factors related to character, engagement, and overall attitude towards their work. Award: • Weekly Basis: Each week, one enrollment advisor (EA) will be selected based on qualitative metrics and recognized for their contribution to the overall environment of enrollment services (ES). They will be (1) “shouted-out” in an email as well as (2) have their name placed on the bulletin board in the office space. • Monthly Basis: At the final Friday meeting of the month, one EA will be selected as the individual who contributed the most in the month to the overall environment of the ES department. The person will receive (1) a whole-group shout out by the director of ES as well as (2) a small award (gift card, food or beverage item, etc.)
There is an old Moorish proverb that reads, “He who does not travel, does not know the value of man.” That quote resonates deep within me because I have a yearning to use my education to empower those in need. In order to do so, I need to see and experience the world outside of the one I am accustomed to. Curiosity is one of the traits that define the person that I am; because of this trait I always ask questions about the world around me and the people I meet. This is one of the driving forces behind my desire to venture outside of the United States to learn a new language and culture.

According to Ganem it’s worse than that – a CNN investigation revealed that college athletes in basketball and football programs in public universities only read at an eighth grade level (2014). Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. I hold all the qualities required by the distinguished NHS like leadership, service, character and scholarship.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
Sometimes students just want to be encouraged, congratulated, or even honored for their hard work and dedication. This helps them be motivated and actually show interest in learning. It also makes them want to try harder and put more effort on school work. Another way to improve student success in Anaheim Schools is to honor students for their arduous work and abilities rather than how smart they are. There are times when students don’t feel as smart as all the other kids, but they try their best.

I should be in National Honor Society because I think I represent a lot of the qualities needed to be in this organization.
