In our so called current modern world , the society is portrayed as fast moving , open and a culturally integrated whole where there is no gender discrimination anymore. But is that really the case ? , sure there has been a tremendous difference in how woman are treated now compared to earlier times but in every company/organization majority of the top positions like the CEO , Boar Of Directors , Chief Advisor and so on are given to the male gender rather than the female despite the fact that the female may have better qualifications. So for them to identify themselves as Transgender , is a HUGE step. Caitlyn Jenner , father of Kylie and Kendall Jenner and Step father to the Kardashian daughter’s , has hidden her transgender identity for years , it back’s up to the year 1980 !! The reveal was made in 2017 , she had to hide her identity due to the judgement / consequences that would be faced and how her family would react . Make’s you think doesn’t it ? Because they don’t fall under the gender normative rules , there is a rise to conflict amongst them and hence they take time to identify themselves as transgender. Its not just the public’s reactions they are scared of but also their family and relatives cause once they identify themselves as a transgender , they know they put their job status , family status , relationships all at risk because not everyone is open and willing to take in a switch in gender role and might feel uncomfortable with the situation and not react well which discourages people from identifying themselves as
