What trends do you find in regards to age, gender, and race/ethnicity? Why are these trends occurring?
In regards to age, the trend I have found was that the numbers for age group 16-24 have decreased and are projected to continue decreasing. This trend is occurring because, as we are seeing right now, more and more young adults have chosen not to go to school and stay home. There have also been more people going to college, and this could be keeping them from working because they are spending all their time in school. The age group 25-54 in the workforce, has increased and is continuing to increase. Now that we have further pushed for women 's rights, we have seen increasing trends in which women are entering the workforce. Due to this there is a much more significant change between men and women in the workforce. As the chart indicates, as the years go on, women will be continue, in large numbers, to join the labor work force. I believe this trend is happening because women have increasingly become independent from their husband and now they have to provide for their family. Women have now set new goals for themselves and want the extra money. Thus, women are joining the workforce.The trend for men has stayed and will continue to stay the same.
