“ This operation is not being planned with any alternatives. This operation is planned as a victory, and that's the way it's going to be. We're going down there, and we're throwing everything we have into it, and we're going to make it a success." This was said by a great military leader named General Dwight D. Eisenhower. This man help make a great turning point in WWII. D-Day of the Battle of Normandy was this turning point. The plan was to force the Nazi Party out of France and the winning of this battle led to the liberation of France and Western Europe. Dwight D. Eisenhower made a great effort to this cause and this made him and the battle a great success. In the battle they used magnificence weaponry and military techniques of the time and these helped make the Allied forces a force to be reckoned with. Dwight brought much attention when he played in football. He liked playing football more than he did like his studies. What he was interested in way history and more particularly the general such as George Washington and Hannibal. He graduated from West Point in 1915 and a year later he would marry a woman named Mamie Doud. He played football at school until he suffered a serious knee injury. His passion for pulling pranks, fondness for cards and smoking, and average grades earned him little respect from his teachers. They thought that he would be a good officer, but he would never be a very accomplished officer. Dwight participated in a total of twenty-three battles. Some of the most famous are Invasion of Normandy, War in Vietnam, and World War II. The first battle he participated in was the 1985 Lebanon Crisis. This was a great learning experience for Dwight because he had not had any battle experience.
