Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth"; this is the first verse of the bible introducing the Old Testament. Genesis means the beginning and/or start of something. For that reason the bible begins with Genesis to explain the religion of Christianity. Christianity which is the religion of when people believe in Jesus, the son of God and that he is a divine human and savior of humanity. Inorder to get an understanding of the bible I had to understand how the bible was created and how God has revealed himself to man.
The way the bible is formed is that it has many different stories that were written by multiple writers. It has never been specified to how many writers it exactly is.
According to the video we watched in class "Bible's Buried Secrets" there were at least four groups of writers. One of the groups being the Israelites, they were also said to have written the Hebrew bible. It was also said …show more content…

God first reveals himself to Adam and then to Abraham. He reveals himself to Adam because of sin. Adam committed sin because he chose to eat an apple from off the tree in which he knew he was forbidden to do so. Itwas the tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. Cause Adam and Eve decide chose to eat the fruit from the tree they were told to leave the Garden of Eden. From there they had to learn how to fend for their own. God then told Adam to make a sacrifice to him. The sacrifice he makes Jesus would sacrifice himself one day for them. God then reveals himself to Abraham to give the ideal life of believing in only god versus multiple gods. Basically God promised Abraham land if he chooses to stop being polytheistic and become monotheistic believe in one god, which is He. So Abraham agreed and then he took himself and his family and traveled to the land of
