The Genesis Creation Story is from a Hebrew creation myth (Judaism/Christianity). The first story goes like this, Elohim “god” creates a heaven and an earth is 6 days. The second story is Yahwen “god” creates Adam from dust and puts him in the Garden of Eden, where he watches out for the animals. Then Adam creates Eve.
The Story of Corn and Medicine is connected to the beliefs of the Cherokee, Native Americans. It talks about how life was created and from whom.
There is a relationship between the Genesis Creation and The Story of Corn and Medicine. The similarities that stood out to me were that both stories were started off talking about building a life with a start of no land. “In the beginning Elohim created the Heavens and the Earth” (Genesis Text). “In the beginning earth didn’t have any land; it was just water and darkness” (Corn and Medicine Text). Both stories also lead into stating that the animals lived in the sky. The last similar text that stood out to me was when they said the animals and plants were supposed to stay awake for 7 days.

It can closely be related to world today because we have consequences to our actions as they did back then in the creation myths. The first day god created light. The second day god separated waters and called it the sky. The third day god created dry ground (land) and gathered waters (seas). The fourth day god created the sun, moon and the stars, which was for light, day and night. The fifth day god created creatures and birds and blesses them to create more. The 6th day god created Adam and Eve, and passed his roles to them. On the 7th day he blesses and sacrifices as he finishes up here on
