Genesis Genesis is the first book in the Bible. It explains how we were created and why we act like we do. Why we sin and how it’s hard to stop. We have learnt a lot and can still learn plenty from Genesis. Genesis is very important and has affected the world greatly. Genesis the very first book in the Bible. It explains that God breathed everything into the world. He made galaxies, stars, black holes, water, and life. Genesis starts out with God hovering above the waters. God created light, he created the sky, the land. He created everything on the land. “God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3) Genesis then goes on and talks about man. "The Lord God made all sorts of trees that grow up from the ground-trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit.” (Genesis 2:9) In the center of the garden God placed the great tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When Adam was asleep, God took one of Adam’s ribs and made Eve. Adam and Eve were the first humans on Earth, they felt no shame or modesty. In the garden there was a serpent named Satan. Satan tempted Eve to eat the apple. Eve ate the apple and then had Adam eat the apple. “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5) Adam and Eve had kids who were Cain and Abel. Cain was the older of the two and he was a farmer. Abel became a shepherd. “When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord. Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift.” (Genesis 4:3-5) Cain wasn’t happy that God didn’t accept his gift. Cain lured his brother Abel out and
