In today’s global news, the issue of global warming seems to be an extremely hot topic. Global warming is defined as “an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect” (Dictionary.com). The potential effects that global warming has on places around the globe proves to be absolutely devastating. In addition, what could be done to ease the effects of global warming would require worldwide participation. To begin, whenever the topic of global warming comes up, the question of “what causes it?” seems to always be an issue. It’s extremely difficult to exactly pinpoint every individual cause of global warming because “Causes lie in one area and the effect emerges in another area. Hence, global warming is truly a global issue and needs to be tackled collectively by all the nations.” (Thesisstatement.org). One cause has been pinpointed. “Scientists have concluded that most of the observed warming is very likely due to the burning of coal, oil, and gas. This conclusion is based on a detailed understanding of the atmospheric greenhouse effect and how human activities have been tweaking it.” (nwf.org).
