The age of Exploration started with the scientific revolution that led to new invention and world Exploration. The birth of Modern science began with logical reasoning and new theories. So for example the Telescope. Prince Henry the Navigator was responsible for portugue success. Some discoveries and inventions are the telescope and a book to disprove penny that Earth was the center of the universe.
After the Middle Ages, Europe went through a rebirth of literature and classical learning. This time period was known as the Renaissance. Also during this time period, The Age of Exploration had begun. Europe was trying to discover new and faster ways of reaching India. In the process, they found the Americas, along with other routes to Africa and Asia.
The Age of Exploration occurred from 1400 to 1700 C.E. It is famously known as the Age of Exploration because it was a time when explorers from Europe travelled by sea to explore west of them, and make many geographical advances. Exploration was motivated by gold, glory, and God. Along with their motivation, the Europeans also wanted to find trading partners, new goods, new trade routes, and simply find new land. With exploration, there were many good effects and many bad ones.
Scientific discoveries were made and contributed to the growth of the people in Europe and America. The Enlightenment was a growth period in Europe and America, as people were told to rely on their own intellect instead of always looking to God for answers. Unfortunately, because of their existing class structure, religious positions, and authoritative rule, these new ideas in Europe could only be debated.
Before the price revolution and the rise in inflation, principal explorers, such as Chrisopher Columbus, greatly contributed to the expansion of European colonies. The ultimate discovery of the Americas eventually led to an arrangement of Spanish settlements in the new world, existing only to benefit Spain, it's mother country, as the native Indians were quickly utilized for mining and cultivating land. Soon, in 1545, an abundant silver mine at Potosí, Peru was found. For an extensive time, the riches of the Potosí silver mine circulated between the Americas and Spain, specifically 500,000 pounds of silver and 10,000 pounds of gold. Years later, trading routes between Spanish colonies were established. "

One cause for the Age of Exploration was Glory. People wanted to explore different and mysterious places. Glory was founded in adventures and discovered lands, making explores much richer than before. Narvaez, De Solo and others are some examples of explorers during 16th century (doc. 1). They had particular goals, including different lands and cities to reach and explore, but unfortunately these men didn’t meet their goal.
Columbus reportedly traded pieces of his ship for gold, and was given a golden mask by a native chief. He later said in court (believing he had reached India) “There are many spices, and great mines of gold and other metals…”. After learning of the untapped natural resources and potential for wealth, European nations created an exploration frenzy, with constant voyages to the new world. The nations which sponsored these expeditions would give the explorers a cut of all the gold they found, which helped motivate conquistadors to make the long and treacherous journey to the New World. These explorers knew gold would bring wealth and power to them and their country, in addition to achieving tremendous glory for both.
Europe made many discoveries during the the Age of Exploration. There were three main ones though. The discovery of the “New World” was the first. Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand supported Christopher Columbus on a voyage to supposedly reach Asia by going West on the Atlantic. Columbus never realized he found lands that were new to Europe, but he didn't find America, as many people believed.
The European Renaissance was a result of the fall of the Middle Ages. When the old European system failed and the Roman Catholic Church had no answers for the people, they sought out answers elsewhere. The people of Europe found their answers in old libraries constructed by Alexander the Great containing the old Greek knowledge which was much superior to their current intelligence. There were multiple components that made up the European Renaissance: the Age of Discovery, the Protestant Reformation, and the Enlightenment. The Renaissance not only led to technological advances, but enhancements in thought and the advancement in ideas.
Why did the Europeans explore so prolifically between the 14-16 centuries? The ‘Age of Exploration’ is the period between the 14th-16th century. It is known for the European exploration into other parts of the world. The Age of Exploration is the period when European countries ventured into unknown territories to find spice routes, to set up trade routes with the East, to find new wealth in the form of gold and silver, and to spread Christianity.
The Renaissance inspired exploration because it made people want to search for new routes to receive certain goods that were hard and expensive to find. The Renaissance was a time of growth and new inventions and new philosophies (History Channel). To being with, Bartolomeu Dias is a Portuguese explorer. “King John II sent Bartolomeu Dias to sail to search for a sea route to India” (History Channel). He was born in the year 1450.
In 1492, Christopher Columbus and the Spanish discovered the New World. Columbus was trying to find a more efficient and faster route to Asia. While using his knowledge of the wind and current patterns, they discovered the New World. The Spanish found different kinds of wealth within in the New World, many of Spanish wasn’t looking wealth. They came to create a fresh start by building homes and developing the land, most of the Spanish located in the warmer climate areas.
