The tool for nursing diagnosis by using Gordon's II Functional Health Pattern for individual or community is a very useful tool in assesing and evaluating the family. Health promotion is very important and relevant to nurses because it is based on the assumption that health and well-being is the result of harmony between the body and the enviroment (Crisp and Taylor 2009, P.257). The 11 questions that were asked are as follows, values, health perception, nutrition, sleep/rest, elimination, activities/exersize, cognitive, sensory-perception, self-perception, role relationship, sexuallity, and coping. The strongest wellness and family diagnosis that I chose in relation to their age is sexuallity and sleep/rest. The first interview or value, health peception with her, which is the wife was good but with resentments from her because of the husband's health which is cardiac myopathy, prostate, DVT and other health issues. The woman walks very fast, while the husband is very slow due to the illness. In cognitive, the woman can remember very well, but the husband has short-term memory loss. Talking about sensory-perception, both have good sense of taste and smell, the hear very well except for the woman that does not do well in a noisy place by filtering out information.
