Picture yourself as a ten year old at a IT’Sugar candy shop. The first thing you notice is the “Free Candy Sunday ” sign right before you even walk in the door. Soon your eye spots your favorite treat, gobstoppers. As you grab the bag to leave, you are then stopped by a voice saying “ $1.25 please”. The confusion on your face eventually leads to cashier saying “ Aww sorry sugar, the free candy sale ended at 3.” It’s currently 5; why would they keep the sign up after two hours? You’ve been had and lied to! The store mislead you into believing that the candy was on sale when it was clearly over. Why confuse someone when you can make it easier on everyone and follow through with the title of the sale. Don’t trick me into thinking one thing when it is actually another. I felt this while reading “ Government Spending Kills Jobs” by John Hayward. He misleads the audience by giving the audience the impression that they will gain knowledge of government …show more content…

One would assume that he is going to talk about what exactly public and private sectors are. But it starts to go in the opposite direction when Hayward says “ they’re talking about the destruction of private sector. His is whole piece, which is remarkably silly for someone who teaches economics, is premised on ignoring that distinction,” ( Hayward, 1). The writer is referring to Blinder’s quote “ rail against job-killing government spending” (1). Hayward is suggesting that Blinder speaks selfishly when talking about what jobs government spending actually kills. It is understood that he has his own opinions of Blinder’s beliefs, but this is irrelevant to what the section is expected to be about , public and private sectors. But ultimately, the article talks about how Blinder’s claim makes no sense. As you can see, Hayward starts to confuse the reader by misleading them from the section of this article and
