Groupon works with major businesses to offer subscribers daily deals, which are like coupons to stores that people love (Ferrell, O.C., Hirt, G.A., Ferrell, L., 2014). When these deals are generated they come in the form of emails, mobile devices, or even on the Groupon website (Ferrell et al, 2014). In order for the daily deals to be valid there are a certain number of people who have purchase the deal then it is available to everyone (Ferrell et al, 2014). A lot of people are on financial budgets so when deals arise most people jump on the daily deals. When consumers like specific stores they always return for more purchases. So when Groupon adds daily deals to help consumers save money then they will keep using the website. The daily deals are available when a certain number of people agree to purchase the product and then it will be available to everyone (Ferrell et al, 2014). When Groupon introduced their new mobile feature app called Groupon Now!, they did not realize that both their sales teams would be marketing the new app and the daily deal service (Ferrell, O.C., Hirt, G.A., Ferrell, L., 2014). This made the businesses feel overwhelmed with duplicate calls from Groupon marketing teams (Ferrell et al, 2014). They then came up with a plan to introduce both the daily deal services and the Groupon Now! app. When one sales person is in charge of offering both services it helped to eliminate the confusion and helps the business to not be bombarded by sales calls.
