In today’s society, everyone is pushing for more gun control laws in the United States. While others disagree, they would like to enforce their 2nd amendment right, their right to bear arms. There are many points on how guns can be used in society and its effects: guns can be used for self-defense, also can prevent robberies. Guns can cause a large number of deaths, and if the United States would develop a stricter gun control laws it could help or harm the environment. There have been many cases for a person to use a gun for self-defense. While on the street people are more vulnerable to being a victim of a robbery. If the victim of these robberies or modern people, in general, carried a gun or some sort of weapon the criminal would feel threatened by the firearm. This means by more people exercising their 2nd amendment right the likelihood of reducing crime in cities is possible. For example, professors James D. Wright and Peter Rossi of the University of Massachusetts conducted a study of “how many criminals would be afraid of the victim if they had a gun?” They interviewed 1,874 convicts from many states. The survey claims 74% would avoid robbing civilians, because of their fear of being shot.(liberty firearms) 40% of the criminals said that they had been refrained from perpetrating a certain crime because they believed their potential prey had a firearm.(Ingraham)With this idea in mind if most people had a gun the community would be safer from theft. When guns are involved there is a great risk for disaster, but whom holds great power (the gun) comes with great
