The open carry on weapons issue has sparked major controversy in today’s world. When talking about this topic you have two sides the people who are for it and the people against it, I am against it. Gun control is an issue that has been debated by Americans since the 1960’s. Both sides hold strong opinions which causes conflict and confusion among the citizens of the world.
According to the CGC, last year a total of 291 people was killed by firearms in Australia, Sweden, Great Britain, Japan, and Switzerland. In the United States more than 24,000 people will be killed by the end of last year. What do you think is the big difference between the U.S. and these other countries? Increase security for schools, any recreational place really. Give gun shop owners a good alternative job, like a good paying security guard job. Increase the age limit for gun ownership. Impose a huge tax on guns so that people wouldn't be able to just buy it off the bat. Limit sales of automated or even semi-automated weapon. Even shotguns are scary. If the government think that this will break the rules of democracy, it's for the better. Just one of the abovementioned can be a good start. Make sure gun shops are not easily accessible like in Target/Walmart, make it like some shady place that deters people from going into it. Increase the prices on shooting ranges because there can be an age limit of just 12 so that means that Americans can have the luxury of trying things out at a young age. We should also buy back the guns at phenomenal prices. This should at least incentivize people to sell the remaining guns that they
