It’s so much going on in the world now. I’m a student in high school that’s trying to make a change. I’ll love to stop the gun violence and crime issue. Because citizens are losing their lives physically or going to prison. It will take somebody great to stop all of this.
he famous quote by Gandhi “be the change you wish to see in the world” always impacted me as a child. I always wanted to make a difference, seize the world and hold it in my arms even cuddle it to make it better. I grew up looking up to politicians like Presidents George Bush and Barack Obama and wish I could be like them one day, help people in need and say something when it is not right. Now as a young adult I look at the issues that have been happening in this country and think “How many children need to die before something is done about this issue?”Which is why this whole walkout is idiotic.
My fellow Americans, I would like to thank you all for coming out today to listen to me speak on behalf of the future. America, the future is now. I want to strive in making a major impact on our country. Being President of the United States comes with a lot of responsibility. With all this responsibility, I want to make certain that America is the best it can be.

Step up and be a leader and not follower try to help come up with ways to stay safe in school today.

We all know that there is a need to control the sale of guns in this country. Right? We all know this because we are constantly being told it is needed. The more we are told a lie the more it becomes true to everyone!
Ever since the inception of this country 240 years ago, guns have been an integral part of the American identity; a sense of lawlessness, individualism, personal autonomy and freedom. They were the tools that liberated us, and gave us independence over a tyrannical, unrepresentative empire. However, in more recent years, these tools have been used more and more frequently in mass shootings, some of which are occurring at schools, targeting teachers and children. Since the infamous shooting at Columbine High School 19 years ago, we have had several shootings at schools, and we tend to get “thoughts and prayers”, a gesture with good intentions, but little actual progress made. This problem can be contributed to the increasing power of guns, and a lack of mental health coverage, gun
I appreciate the invitation to think like a freak in regards to gun control. I want to address the big and smaller picture. I won’t necessarily say guns are the problem. My reason for that statement is places like Norway, Finland, Germany, France and Denmark all have heavy gun ownership and a history of low murder rates. Germany has one of the highest weapons-per-head rates in the world.
Imagine sitting in a classroom laughing at a joke your friend made, or planning on going to the movies after school, or even listening to someone’s persuasive speech essay. When suddenly someone bursts through the door with an automatic weapon in hand. You and your friends run and hide in the corner of the classroom, you are all afraid that you will never be able to see the faces of your friends, teachers, or family members ever again. How could something like this happen you may ask? It happens often because of how lenient gun laws are in America and something needs to change.
