Kristie Hughes has wondered about her birth parents since she was a teenager, but it was years later that she learned her adoption was far from typical. A doctor in Georgia essentially sold her to her adoptive parents. Hughes is among roughly 200 adults who have come to be known as the “Hicks Babies,” newborns who were illegally sold into the black market adoptions by Dr. Thomas Hicks between 1950 and 1965, according to county birth records.
I, Joseph Kanaan, would like to run for one of the four senators for our junior class next year. With my abilities and past experiences of being apart of school council, I truly believe that I can make an impact on our great Xaverian community.
