Many people believe that we should be limited on what we should wear on Halloween. They think that it would be too scary and might offend others. But I think that we should be able to wear whatever we want on Halloween. I believe this for several reasons including, it is our right, it takes away personality, and it ruins the whole point of Halloween. However, the offensive costumes part brings a point, I think that we should be ethical in our choices.As much as I believe that while in school they have the right to put small limitations on what we can wear I also believe that while out of school we should be able to wear whatever we want. If what we are able to wear is limited, the ability to express ourselves is limited. Also, if we are only allowed to wear those kinds of things, then before you know it everyone will be forced to wear the exact same thing to ensure that no one is different. The origin of Halloween begins in the time of the first settlers of America. There was a day called "All Hallows Eve" where it was said that ghosts and monsters would come out to cause terror. So, the children put on scary costumes to frighten them away. This eventually turned into a less serious holiday know as Halloween. Halloween is part of our heritage and people cannot take that away from us. It would almost be as bad as taking away Independence Day. To conclude I will say that we should not be stupid in our costume choices and how we use them. If our costume has even the slightest chance of offending someone, then we shouldn't wear it. People also need to be careful with extra realistically scary costumes. Many use these costumes to scare people. This is fine with friends and family who would understand it as a joke afterwards, but not with young children or people who wouldn't know of its harmlessness. People should not be too careless with their costume
