The one emotion that every human in civilization tries to achieve: happiness. (Periodic sentence) The driving force of humanity. The one thing that keeps us going. It's what brightens up our lives while leaving behind a feeling of satisfaction. It allows us to awaken within the early hours of the morning, acknowledging the day ahead. It pushes us to try harder in achieving our goals. It gives everyone a meaning and purpose to live. It’s what makes the world extraordinary. It's the feeling of being free and undisturbed of painful emotions. Happiness is feeling content while enjoying our lives.

The feeling is a teenage girl waking up on a Sunday morning knowing she has the day to herself. She’s eating her breakfast and her dog is scampering around her and wagging his tail and giving her sloppy kisses. (Polysyndeton) The feeling of finally completing all her assignments at 9 pm on a school night. The smile she gives her teacher as she hands in her last exam of the semester. It's the smell of Starbucks brewing a new pot of coffee as she walks into the bookstore. A mother finally giving her daughter permission to go out with friends.
