Happiness is one of the six main emotions that humans experience during their lifetime. Certain people experience other feelings more than others like a child is happier and less stressed than an adult would be. Fear, anger, and sadness are all seen as negative feelings, and people usually want to avoid accepting any of these emotions because of the distress they cause. Being happy can improve one’s lifestyle tremendously. Happiness helps to build healthy relationships and be optimistic about the future, but sadness and fear also help one’s state of mind. Some people think that happiness is the only way humans should feel and that others who are sad need professional help, but negative emotions are normal and can have positive effects on someone’s mind, like making them more knowledgeable and aware of their surroundings. …show more content…

Being positive brings on feelings of warmth and bliss which can radiate from oneself to others. Humans are warm­blooded beings who naturally except affection and love from other people. Being in a healthy relationship has connections with how satisfied the partners are as individuals. In the article “Happiness: Enough Already” by Sharon Begley, she explains the results from a study, “The highest levels of happiness go along with the most stable, longest and most contented relationships” (Begley 455). Joy has positive effects on intimate relationships, and being happy with oneself can help the way others feel towards them. Anyone in the right state of mind typically wants to be happy because sorrow and anger can bring about negative responses in one’s life and relationships. In TIME Magazine, Jeffrey Kluger states, “People who dwell on the past and future are less likely to be happy than people who concentrate on the present” (Kluger 27). Worrying and stressing are two things that naturally somber people are used to doing. They overanalyze
