He also served as chief chemist for John Morrel and Company of Ottuma, Illinois (1919-1921) and became President of the Chemical Products Corporation, Chicago from 1921 to 1924.

Sanders grew up in a small town in Kansas and went on to be a stellar running back at Oklahoma State University, to later be drafted by the Detroit Lions. He worked hard day in and out, and eventually it payed off.

Desmond Holmes came from a long line of aristocrats, however his distant relatives would most likely turn in their graves if they knew what had become of the clan. The family had fallen on hard times; they were poor. Not poor like the “unfortunate” citizens of Oftbrook, Virginia, whose hardship consisted mostly of not being able to eat out every night. The Holmes were outsiders, and none of them were particularly bright, especially Desmond. Being an outsider makes one a target, but who could be a shooter in small town Virginia?

William Jennings Brown was a beloved orator and political figure from the 1890’s till his death in the 1925. He was known for his abilities to capture a crowd and keep them enthralled for hours as he talked about anything. From an early age though he knew that he wanted to be like his father, following in his footsteps to the political realm. He made good use of his oratory skills and created a whole new way of running a presidential campaign. He also helped to create the bases for many new ideas that would lead to Franklin Roosevelts, New Deal Plan.
Marielle Apronti Prof. Oscar Williams AAFS 311 4 March 2018 The Trans-Atlantic slave trade was the most important factor when considering the early development of European capitalism. The arrival of the Portuguese to the West African Coast and their establishment of trading and slave ports throughout the continent set in stone a trend of exploitation of Africa 's labor and human resources. Europeans greatly benefited from the Trans-Atlantic trade, as it allowed them to aggregate raw materials such as sugar and cotton to manufacture products that funded the Industrial Revolution. In the book “Capitalism and Slavery” by Eric Williams he addresses the origin of “Negro” history, the economic and political impact of slavery in Great Britain, the role of the American Revolution and the decline of slavery in Great Britain.

An advocate for his community, Finley not only gave jobs to various people in his community with his five stores. He also served as vice president of the NOW leadership movement. Finley Drug store was leveled in an urban renewal project in the sixties, nonetheless Finley was instrumental in so much change in his community I would be remissed if I had not mentioned
