It is the rough actions of Harriet Tubman, William Still, and Thomas Garrett that can understand the sacrifices one makes in order to be free. Harriet Tubman led hundreds of slaves to Canada and was one of the bravest human beings ever. William Still was a black man who worked with the Underground Railroad and was secretary. Thomas Garrett was another brave man who had a station at the Underground railroad. These three brave people made sacrifices to lead the slaves to freedom.
Leadership takes a lot, it takes character and courage most importantly. Frederick Douglas was a great leader he showed leadership and character all the time especially for being a slave and coming from a rough childhood. There are many others in the Civil War time that showed leadership such as Abraham Lincoln, Robert Lee, and Jefferson Davis. Frederick Douglas was very committed to what he was doing for example, he wanted to learn how to read and he followed through with it and stay committed no matter what happened he would get help from the white boys in the streets while he would say he was running errands, he knew what he was doing. Any time he could get a chance he would read and learned from his master’s wife how to read.

When I think of a great leader I think of a person that has courage, confidence, commitment, and creativity. When I think of all those characteristics there’s one person that always pops up in my head, and that person is Malcolm X. He had the ability to rally millions of people and have them work together in order to fix problems that he saw within his country. He had the courage to stick up for things he believed in even though there were many people that stood against what he believed and what he wanted to accomplish. He made a commitment to his people that he would not give up nor will he rest until he saw the change that he was so passionately advocating for.
Being a good leader does not necessarily mean shining in the spotlight. Some of the most revolutionary and successful leaders are the ones who worked the lights. Self-awareness, self-direction, vision, ability to motivate, and social awareness are the characteristics of a good leader according to SIY Leadership Institute (SIYLI). There have been many accomplished and renowned leaders in America since (and before) the 1770’s, ones whose names are universally known and others who are unfamiliar. Of the latter is Alexander Hamilton, who showed potential since the minute he was put on earth, for no matter what obstacles were thrown in his way he forged ahead and never threw away his shot.
a good leader can make decisions. if you are able to make decisions how are you going to leave our people? with making decisions comes communication. Percy Jackson was a great leader, he was able to make certain decisions and communicate with others to leave them, and tell them which path he chose to follow. Percy jackson is a fictional character in a book series.
The very first thing that makes up a good leader, is knowledge. With knowledge, leaders are able to take good decisions. Therefore I consider Rick Grimes from "The Walking Dead" as someone who makes up a good leader. What makes him a good leader is his knowledge, responsibility, and bravery. To begin with, Rick Grimes, the leader of a group of people who want to survive a zombie apocalypse, is their leader because he knows what and what shouldn't be done in order to survive.
As you read through history, you can notice that it is likely about battles: winning and losing, and leaders: good or bad. Either one is a part of every history of every nation or community. By reading these aspects of history you can see that leaders are the most important part of every history or nation’s past because they are the backbone of every battle or even communities and empires. And above all that a leader is a one who goes first and leads by example, so that others are motivated to follow him. This is a basic requirement, and in order to be a leader, a person must have an inherent commitment to the goal that they try to achieve even if nobody follows them.
What makes a leader? I believe a leader to be intelligent ,tough, and has the determination to achieve a goal. Having certain skills will have an impact on you being a trustable leader. Being selfless and caring are also characteristics. Malcolm X his birth name Malcolm Little is a fine a example of a leader and has most of these leadership qualities.
One of the most important characteristics of a good leader is that they must be actually prepared to lead under any circumstance. This sounds like something that should go without saying, but it is surprising just how many people who are in a leadership role are not prepared to take an active role in leading their team. A good leader does not sit back and observe what is going
To be a successful leader I also agree that one needs to have certain characteristic and skills. A leader needs to be able to simple lead, as you have stated. They need to direct and guide people to fulfill shared goals. Communication is also another huge skill. A leader needs to be able to clearly communicate, build relationships, motivate others, inspire others, and be a role model to create a positive work environment and culture that will accept change and innovation in the company.
