In “The Wednesday Wars”, the main character, Holling Hoodhood, seems to form opinions about people pretty quickly, especially Mrs.Baker, Holling’s new 7th teacher. This leads you to having the same opinion about certain characters in the book. However, you should never judge people based on first impressions. The world contains many people, you never do know who they really are and what they are capable of until you them.
In the story “The Adventure of the Speckled Band”, Sherlock Holmes is not responsible for the death of Dr. Grimbsy Roylott. One reason why Holmes is not responsible is because the snake is uncontrollable. Roylott was stupid to believe that the wild snake could be trained so easily. Furthermore, Holmes attacked the snake in self defense.
In the book “An Ordinary man: An Autobiography” by Paul Rusesabagina, the author faces many bad problems and experiences distasteful moments throughout the whole novel. Near the middle of the story, as Paul explains the harsh treatment and taunting of RTLM against them, he tells us about a teacher who brainwashed her students into hating the “Hutus.” “It always bothers me when I hear Rwanda’s Genocide being described as the product of ‘ancient tribal hatred.’ I think this is a easy way for westerners to dismiss the whole thing as a regrettable but pointless bloodbath that happens to primitive brown people (Rusesabagina Chp.4 Pg.53).”

The character Alexia made a significant change because of a critical moment in the novel Because of Mr. Terupt, by Rob Buyea. Before Alexia's major change, she was bossy, insecure, and a bully, who had no filter and was inconsiderate about her friend's feelings. One day Mr. Terupt took Alexia out into the hallway to scold her for being so mean and bossy towards her holiday group. As Mr. Terupt was scolding Lexi, she started crying and suddenly Mr. Terupt asserted, “I'm telling you the truth, and the truth can hurt,” (Buyea 90). For the first time ever Alexia hears what someone else actually thinks of her, and this makes her very upset.
