Introduction
Over the past eights weeks, I have learned many great things about health systems. What I’ve learned is that one of the most visible functions of any health system is health services. Health services are considered most visible to health systems because they cover a large amount of responsibilities and duties that are delivered to individuals of the public, which may include diagnosing patients, providing treatments of diseases to patients, promotion, and maintenance and restoration of patients’ health. I also learned that when these particular duties or responsibilities are carried out by health care professionals, there are also some legal rights of individuals that should be followed and respected by patients as health care

Access to health services is important because it improves effectiveness, by achieving health equity and increasing the quality of a healthy life for everyone. When individuals have access to care, they have the right to receive individualized, considerate, and respectable care for in a safe setting. For example, care should be delivered to patients in a manner and setting intended to preserve one’s personal dignity. Quality care should also be provided to individuals without discrimination of one’s race, color, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, family status, etc. and also without discrimination to sources of payments. Patients should have the right to expect that all of the verbal communications and records that pertains to their health status or care will be treated as confidential to the hospital. Patients may also refuse to allow observation by anyone not directly associated in their care. When one’s private health details are respected and protected there can also be a strong bond of trust built between both the the health care professionals and their patients. Overall, providing privacy of patients should make patients feel more confident in health
