Opened in 1970 as the second public elementary school in Palm Springs (The Village of Palm Springs, n.d.), it is located at 4200 Purdy Lane. Over the summer school officials met to review the mission statement of previous years and decided it was time for a change. Our previous mission statement was "The Mission of Charlotte Valley Central School District is to create a learning environment that challenges and motivates each student to become a self-sufficient, cooperative, responsible and attributing member of a global society while encouraging each to achieve his or her highest potential. " This was felt to be too long, busy, too much and not direct enough. So the officials worked together to create a new statement around the six core beliefs. Students first, trust, ownership, communication, collaboration, and growth mindset.

From due dates, picture day, assembly’s, prom and finally walking across the stage with my class of 2015. I realized that when I graduate there goes 90% of the people I talk to on a day to day basis, and I know I will miss that. High school taught me more lessons than I think everything up to high school ever taught me. When I look back I know I will miss this miserable place, because I loved every second of it.
