Many people question the importance of higher education and even wonder if college is worth the cost. However there are some who think that a higher education is very important. I believe that higher education is very important, this is so that students can get an early insight on how the workforce may be for them. Typically the highly skilled jobs require a college education of some short, so do the more well paying jobs. Some jobs prefer their employees to have some level of a degree and will also pay higher if your degree is higher. But I can also see how college may be costly for some. What does liberal learning have to do with the harsh reality that our graduates are going to face after college? (document B). This is a question that can go many different ways, liberal learning may not prepare one at all or it can prepare many students for the reality they will face after college. If one does not go to college then being inside the workforce may be tough and they also will not have the readiness they may need. At my school we have vocational building, which has classes varying from cosmetology, medical classes, auto body, welding , and many more. These classes are designed to help young students learn how their desired field may work or even if that is the area of work they would like to do. Vocational classes are very important to help students become workforce ready. Post secondary education should help students to discover what they love to do, to get better at it, and to develop the ability to continue learning so that they become agents of change (document B). Schooling after high school may help to expose you to the various areas of work. This is why college is key to one’s career and helps them know exactly what they want to do. College may also help you explore the different areas at one time and you may also change your major or minor at any time. That’s one plus to college, being able to change your minor or major at any point, if you decide you do not want to be a nurse and want to be a teacher instead then you can change your career path and take the classes needed for your desired
