The building was a family-friendly destination, consisting of a real fire truck, and a complete arcade.

Chief Croker who was the Fire Chief that reported to the Triangle factory fire. Chief Croker reported back to the factory the next day after the fire.

The Seton Hall University fire took place in January of the year 2000. Sadly, three students were killed and dozens were injured due to a fire that had started in the common room area. At first details about the cause of the fire were a little confusing, there were many reports that said smoking was the cause and a few that had stated that some drunk students had set the fire as a prank and the fire spread more rapidly than they had anticipated as a result of the carpeting containing synthetic fibers that had acted almost like an accelerant due to its makeup (Boland Hall Fire). This was such an unfortunate happening, what started as a seemingly harmless prank turned into an extremely dangerous situation that none would soon forget. Mr. Frank Catapano the current owner of 23 Falcone Circle gave an overview of why he was requesting relief from 12’ primary building setback from the WCD. The current lot is an approved building lot. The current location of the house is very similar to the location that was depicted in the Subdivision application several years ago. When reviewing the project with the Building Inspector it was brought to Mr. Catapano’s attention about the 12’ primary building setback from the WCD. Mr. Catapano submitted an application to the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) and they recommended that he meet with Commission to discuss the request to encroach into the 12ft setback.

A prayer vigil was held at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland on Saturday night in the memory of Oakland warehouse fire victims. The fire at the converted warehouse which was packed with 50-100 youngsters dancing to electronic music claimed 33 lives. "They were amazing and I'm sorry for everyone's loss," said Genevieve Griesau, whose four friends were still missing after the fire. "It's mind blowing, heart breaking."
“The mission behind the Resident Officer Program of Elgin (ROPE) is the belief that by working and living in a distressed neighborhood, the department will provide police service and be the stimulus that empowers the residents to problem solve, improve their quality of life, and independently take ownership of the neighborhood.”(2017). Elgin still has the ROPE program and ROPE officers. The officer next door program is still used as way to purchase a home. According to Dempsey and Forst, this program is meant to get officers to live in a low income housing area, in order have help that part of the community. On 11-14-2015 at about 2106 hours I was dispatched to a domestic violence report at the Emerald Point Condos at 31900 104th AVE SE; H102, Auburn/King/Wa. Enroute dispatch advised the reporting party/victim, Lizbeth Nunez Santana was calling to report that she was assaulted by her husband. The incident occurred about two hours prior and the husband was no longer at the residence. I arrived at the address and contacted Lizbeth and her cousin, Maribel Chavez. Throughout my conversation with Lizbeth it was clear that she was very upset, she had to stop speaking several times as she was crying and upset with the situation.
