As years may have progressed history has always been a repetition with random new events and highlights of life that many will never forget. The Holocaust and the genocide in Rwanda are two of the most profound situations to ever happen in history. We may say these two events can never have anything in common but those that dealt with these historical events personally could say otherwise. If we sat down to discuss these events we will all be able to recognize that they have many things in common even though both situations were experienced in two different parts of the world.

For instance a mass murder is defined as, the indiscriminate killing of any one person or people by a government. Democide is the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide, and mass murdering. Politicide is the murder of any person or people by someone because of their political purpose. Last but not least would be genocide. The term Genocide is defined as the killing of people by a government because of their membership (race, ethnicity, religion, and language). The Holocaust would be categorized as a genocide just like Rwanda due to the cause of death it had towards the victims.

The term Holocaust did not come from it uniqueness or even as a social name. The correct definition of holocaust is “burning offering.” As such this is a part of the language of the psalmist, a meaningful word to all who have some acquaintance with the bible, full of the richest emotional connotations.
