Line of business originally offered by the Home Depot was home improvement products and customer service. Included in the original offerings were the sales of typical daily use items such as gardening products, hardware, and tools. Service was in the form of enquiring customer’s needs and coaching them through the repair or installation process (do-it-yourself). Soon after, Home Depot began to offer specialty products such as window treatments, appliances, and special orders. Service is now in the form of hiring professionals to install or repair the products for the customer (do-it-for-me).
