When I first walked into the building, I remember being very nervous. I had never been inside of a shelter before and I was scared to see how so many people affected by homelessness lived. There were many families that were living there, and the adults looked worn down, with dark bags under their eyes while the children wore stain filled clothes and had crazed unmaintained hair.
