“Every Year, More Than 2 Million Kids in America Will Face a Period of Homelessness”, said Statistics on Homeless Youth in America. The event of teens becoming homeless is mostly cause by these three reasons, Physical abuse, Emotional abuse, and Sexual abuse. All of those reasons plus more make teen’s runaway, forward to homelessness. There are other big reasons too, for example, parents may pass or parents may become homeless too, causing kids to become orphans.

About 57% of kids go without food one day every month. 50% teens say the reason of homelessness is caused by physical abuse by a family member. 25% Kids who are coming out of foster care become homeless within two to four years of leaving. More statistics shows that 20,000 teens are forced into prostitution every year. A thrilling fact is 40% of homeless in the United States is under 18 years of age. …show more content…

They just get away from the problem they are facing at home. The consequences of teen homelessness are big. Teens start to change and are used to the big change in their lifestyle. So they start getting into drugs, for example, marijuana, cocaine, pills and acid etc.

Unprotected sex is the biggest. What goes through a teens head at this time of age is sex. All the teen wants at this time is sex. They have nothing else to do but have sex, so they turn to prostitution. Also this enables them to get money and food. These teens, estimated of 20,000 teens at this time thinks sex is the only way to live.

Depression is scary it doesn’t go away, especially when you have nothing to begin with. Depression creeps up on you without you knowing and you can be stuck with it, making you not want to change anything, making you feel less important, like you would rather sit in one place and stay away from everyone
