1. Explain the essence of homeostasis. Why is it crucial for the bodily systems to maintain homeostasis?

Homeostasis is the maintenance of a constant internal environment. Control systems throughout your body maintain automatic temperature & water at a steady pace, which requires cells to function. Rapid physical activity in hot or cold climates will affect homeostasis as well. It affects you temperature, hydration, blood oxygen levels, and salt levels. The temperature control system in an incubator, are similar to body control systems. Body systems have receptors to detect stimuli, processing centres to receive info and make responses and effectors which produce the response automatically. The overall importance of homeostasis, diffusion is the movement of molecules from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration. Osmosis, is the overall movement of water from a solution through a partially permeable membrane. If excess water moves into …show more content…

What name is given to the condition of decreased thyroid hormone secretion? What related hormones are likely to decrease as well? It can cause poor ability to take on the cold, a feeling of tiredness, depression, weight gain, and constipation. Thyroid hormone secretion decreases with age. Treatment with thyroid-releasing hormone is less effective in younger patients, while treatment with thyroid hormone is more effective in younger. Decreased responsiveness to injected releasing hormone may indicate a loss of hormone receptors in the anterior pituitary. Increased responsiveness to injected thyroid hormone may indicate up-regulation of hormone receptors, or it may indicate decreased metabolism of the circulating
