Alphonse Gabriel Capone created a criminal empire that was nearly completely untraceable back to him. Al Capone created his organization to be nearly independent from himself and thus it was nearly impossible to convict him of any crime that was committed by his organization or under his command. Many modern criminal organizations still utilize his strategies to keep their organizations under protection. The effects that Al Capone’s criminal organization had on the society of America was widespread within the police organization, criminal investigations, and organized crime.
Alphonse Gabriel Capone started out as a very good student and then became the leader of a massive criminal organization. Al Capone went to a public school till sixth grade, except he was discriminated against due to the fact he was a immigrant. The discrimination towards him made him volatile and eventually beat up a teacher. He was then expelled from the school and picked up odd jobs to pay the bills. He then worked up the ranks to Johnny’s top assistant and was the enforcer and bartender for his bar. Capone would have been arrested and went to jail for assault had it not been for Johnny’s influence in the police department. When Johnny fled the country, after being shot by a rival gang and spending nine months in prison, Al Capone inherited Johnny’s entire gang. Al Capone redid the entire gang to be a powerhouse in the city of Chicago. He kept the gang going by removing opposition through force.
