Many of the 1930s things were influenced by the Great Depression like fashion, new inventions and so much more. At the start of the 1930s, more than 15 million previously wage earning Americans became unemployed. The wave of unemployment amongst Americans made many American adjust their lifestyle to accommodate their new life. Since many people at this time didn’t have a lot of money they had to make use of what they had. They didn’t want to not not be fashionable anymore all cause of there finical situation; they wanted to look like they had money, even If they didn’t. This didn’t stop at fashion; Americans did everything they could to end the depression. Even though a lot of people went through hardships at the time they productivity levels didn’t decline; they wanted invented things to better America and its economy. Sandals where also a popular type of shoes; they where first presented to the world as an eveningwear shoe. Sandals or classic pumps were paired with a skirts where a perfect outfit for the 1930s. And under the shoes most women wore nylon; they where very popular at this time. Nylons where the staple to many women’s wardrobe in the 1930s. nylons provided a lot purpose for women. They added a pop of color to an outfit, allowed women to wear shorter skirts or dresses and provided an extra amount of warmth. Alongside the nylons, gloves where also an important accessory to an outfit. They where very popular for evening dresses and day dresses. Gloves wore with day dresses were short, while gloves worn with evening wear were elbow length. Women also matched their gloves with their gloves, hat and purses.
