Democritus was a greek philosopher who was the first person to create the idea that matter was indivisible. Democritus made many ideas to the contribution to the atomic theory. For Democritus experiment he used a seashell and broke it in half over and over until it was left in a powder. Democritus tried to break the powder in half but simply couldn't. Therefore, he discovered that matter was indivisible. Democritus contributed to the Atomic Theory by experimenting and stating that the universe and all matter obey the following principles of everything is made of Atoms, which are physically indivisible.
