F. Scott Fitzgerald nowadays is well known by his biggest success ´The Great Gatsby´, but how was his literature really appreciated in his days. Well Fitzgerald dream was being ´the best writer ever known´ since he was a child. Mary McQuilan which is Fitzgeralds mom is from an Irish catholic family that had a small fortune in Minnesota by wholesale grocers. Edward Fitzgerald, Scott´s father began a wicker furniture business in St Paul. He kept the family moving between Buffalo and Syracuse in Upstate New York because of his work. When Fitzgerald was 12, his father lost his job with Procter and Gamble, because of this the family went back to St Paul at 1908. So Fitzgerald´s life has been centered at St Paul. It was about a detective story in the school newspaper. This little story started the passion of the creator of The Great Gatsby. In 1911 Fitzgerald at his 15 years old, was sent to the Newman school, which was a catholic school in New Jersey. Sigourney Fay was a father or priest in the school. He was a writer that helped improve the literary skills of Fitzgerald. So Fitzgerald writing started way before he was at the Newman school. F Scott Fitzgerald. After graduating in Newman school in 1913, Fitzgerald stayed at New Jersey to continue his writing skills at Princeton University. Fitzgerald wasn't the best student, his low grades and the intervention of the World War 1 took him time for his graduation.
