He was inspired to produce a better version of the quadricycle which led to the creation of the Detroit Automobile Company in 1899 with Ford as the chief engineer. The company started off pretty well but after sometime it was going downhill. Ford quickly turn his attention to automobile racing which he gained many national notoriety.
