Harper Lee is an award winning american novelist. Lee has only written 2 books in her writing career. Lee’s childhood friend Truman Capote also a writer was an inspiration to her writing. Harper Lee is best known for winning the pultizer prize winning bestseller ‘To kill a Mockingbird’ in 1960. Although Lee’s contribution to literature has been limited to two novels, she alone has achieved what many writers can only wish to achieve after many authoring volumes. Nelle Harper Lee born on April 28,1926 in Monroeville, Alabama is a well-known American novelist. Lee is the youngest child of a family with four children. The most part of Lee’s childhood was spent in a small town being a tomboy. For the most of Lee’s life her mother suffered from mental illness, she rarely ever left the house. Lee’s father was a lawyer, and a member of the Alabama state legislature and also owned part of the local newspaper.
