The civil rights activist that I picked is Martin Luther King Jr. because of his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, he started to do speeches and marches for freedom and to end discrimination. Martin Luther King Jr. has a meaningful impact on American history as one of the most influential speakers. To understand what Martin Luther King Jr. was trying to get to our heads was that "we are one and that we need to work together not against each other'' which is why the civil rights movement was a movement.
