Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, and is remembered as one of greatest peace leaders in world history. In 1955, King led the Montgomery Bus Boycott which helped lead to desegregation of transportation. This was a major step in the civil rights movement during the late 1950’s. In 1957, King was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which was an organization dedicated to helping the civil rights movement. In 1963, he led a peaceful campaign aimed at Birmingham, Alabama which was known as the most segregated place in America.
Think about it, have you ever wondered how people are now treated equally? I think that Martin Luther King Jr. was the civil rights leader that influenced people the most. But on the other hand other people think Rosa Parks is the greatest civil rights leader. I disagree. To begin with Martin Luther King Jr. was a great inspiration.
Rosa Parks was arrested for breaking the cities segregation laws. Martin Luther King Jr led peaceful boycotts in Montgomery until segregation on city buses finally ended. After the success of the boycott on the bus system, King became president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. While he was leader he traveled around the world tying to encourage African Americans to hold nonviolent protest for civil rights and voting rights as well. When an affiliate asked MLK to come to Birmingham Alabama he accepted the
Martin Luther King Jr. was known for the leader of the African American Civil Rights Movement. One of the main accomplishments Martin Luther did while he was alive, was no racism in the states. Which means he wanted black and white children to go to school together also drink, and eat at the same places. Another of his accomplish were his strong beliefs in non-violent protesting in the states. Martin Luther King Jr. provided much leadership to the African Americans.

Hence, he has impacted the history of the United States greatly. One of the most important achievements in the Civil Rights movement was the Civil Rights Act that was passed in 1964.

Fought for what was right to let people know that they have freedom and that they do not have to obey someone because of their skin color. And that is why he did a non-violent protest to show how everyone is not bad and how people want change in the world. He did non-violent protests all around the world to spread positivity amongst us. He also tried bringing us together, no matter the race, because we are humans who need people that we can depend on, not just family. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. became a civil rights leader because of the speeches he gave to the world, which made a positive change.
Martin Luther King Jr. changed and greatly transfigured America as we know today. He played the leading role in the American Civil Rights Movement and believed in ensuring equality for all people, regardless of race. King was not afraid stepped out of his traditional bounds of society to gain publicity for his cause. Inspired by peaceful leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Benjamin Franklin, King fought for equality in a peaceful manner such as protest in economically disadvantaged areas and taught Americans to express love and diversity. King slightly reached his goal of having a society where race is not an issue.
Then the Montgomery government said that people of color could go anywhere on the buses. They had won their fight for the buses (Uschan 37-38). King showed them that they could achieve anything if they did it peacefully. They would not have had the bus boycott if King was not there to lead them. His leadership in this situation let him to become known for the first time.

They were also supported by others who thought that African-Americans deserved their rights. Martin Luther King, also known as King, was the foremost leader. He was a pacifist and believed in change in the United States through peaceful protests, not violence.
Martin Luther King Jr., is known as one of the most successful civil rights activist and he is known for his nonviolence resistance. The excerpt by Dr. King when he speaks at the civil rights March on Washington in 1963 shows him pleading for America to come together as a whole, where everyone can be great and comfortable in their own skin. Martin was different from other civil rights leaders like Malcolm X because of his believe in peaceful protests. Although they were fighting for the same acts, they had different methods. Martin led peaceful marches and nonviolent civil resistance.
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character”. Dr King had a vision of a society in which race was not an issue in how people were treated or in how they were allowed to to live their lives. The efforts of King and those who liked him have, in fact , changed the country and the world for the better in noticeable ways . His vision has made the world a more equal place , if not an equal one, and it helped to ensure that minorities have a voice. A second impact Martin luther King did to change the country was in 1955 he became heavily notice in Montgomery and the Alabama boycott of the city buses.
King's activism started early in his career. In 1955, he became involved in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This was a protest against the segregated bus system in Montgomery, Alabama. Dr. King was instrumental in organizing this protest, and it ultimately led to the desegregation of the bus system.
b) Did he succeed in that? In my opinion, he had a powerful effect on the Americans during these three parts, through his life, after his death, and these days. Firstly, through his life, King started his revolution when he moved to Montgomery. He made a bus boycott when a black woman was arrested, because she refused to give her seat to a white passenger.
He fought to abolished segregation, he encouraged people of all races to treat everyone as equals, and he showed the world that if you believe in something you can make it happen. If King had not stood for what he believed in our society today would still be separated by color and race in all aspects of our daily lives. King is still a big part of history. He still comes to my mind when people mention racism. I think that if he wouldn 't have been assassinated racism would have almost been abolished today.
