Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement Dr.Martin Luther King Jr was famous for his part in the civil rights movement. He made it easier to be an African-American in those times and made opportunity out of it. One of the most important things about king is that he did the civil rights movement in nonviolence. One of the main points is he led the civil rights movement. This shows how he helped African-Americans to control racism (king 1). He brought nonviolence and made the civil rights movement possible.
