Martin Luther King Jr. the Mockingbird
It is considered a sin to kill a mockingbird bird because they do not do anything to harm or annoy anyone; all they do is sing. As of today there are many “mockingbirds” or people who get hurt and persecuted in today's society even though they did not do anything to deserve it. They often receive hate due to differences that separate them from regular people. Martin Luther King Jr. was a mockingbird because he was violently persecuted for his good deeds. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. A time in which persecution and hatred towards African Americans was normal. Dr. King grew up in the thick of all the hate and wickedness of racism. He came to a decision in his early years that he would try to make the United States an equal place for all.
Martin Luther King has done many good things in his life just like how the Mockingbird is good. He tried his hardest to fight for equal civil rights because he felt that it was not fair at the time. King did all of these good things, people still wanted to and attempted to harm him many times. On September 30, 1956 Dr. King's house was bombed. He was not home at the time, but his wife and his daughter were. Thankfully no one got hurt. Nine years later Dr. King wanted to host a march from Selma to Montgomery. He was not able to show, but he supported it. There were 600 people participating in the march. As they crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge, they were attacked and brutally beaten by state troopers. They did not participate in any hostile acts to provoke the police. Even still on April 4, 1969, Martin Luther King Jr. was standing on the balcony of his hotel room when he got shot. He was not doing anything annoying or harmful, he was just looking out of the
