Martin Luther King was a man of great achievements, but I'm here to talk about some of the many accomplishments he achieved. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Jan 15, 1929 in sunny Atlanta, GA. But did you know his name was Michael when he was born? He changed his name to Martin when he got older. Martin went to school at The Yonge Street Elementary School where everything was separate. The boys, the girls, the drinking fountains, buses to ride home, everything was separate for young Martin. When he got older, he preached with his father and he soon loved it. He graduated college at age fifteen and from there, his speech career grew.

Martin ran a boycott in 1955 with the help and inspiring bravery of Rosa Parks. Many activists and black folks came and spoke out about equality, beware the attacks by police, white folks, and police dogs. It lasted for 381 days and many buses went out of business. So, then the law that anyone, black or white, could ride in the front or the back of the bus was made. But many white people didn't agree with the law and were protesting as well. But, finally, all men and women, black or white, could ride in any part of all the public buses. Peace was slowly restoring, but not fully. …show more content…

Martin persevered even though it was hard to get the government to make the law official. But, still many people were not happy about this change with the whites and the blacks being together. Still, many Whites and Black people believed they were both equal, no matter what color their skin
