"Rome fell but its legacy lived on." The Roman empire may have fallen apart, but their accomplishments are remembered and inspire many people today. So, even though the empire collapsed, many things now and in the future will be influenced by Rome and what they had created. The Roman legacies will influence many years to come, this included Roman Architecture and engineering, art, language and writing, and law and government. But, I believe that Roman engineering and architecture has had the greatest impact on today's society. The world will come to improve on these inventions and use these to help them in their everyday lives. The Romans produced arches and domes, aqueducts, and roads that will be responsible for many modern day structures. It is clear that Roman arches and domes made an immense change to Roman life and ours. Arches were built to create a more efficient way of building certain structures. It cost less money, since there was less building materials work with, it looks better, it represented power and prestige, it is very strong and can hold a lot of weight, and it creates more space like when it is used to make a dome. Roads covered more than fifty thousand miles, connecting Rome with the frontiers of the empire. Roman roads had been made of layers of stone, sand, and gravel and even some are still used in Rome today as it was centuries ago or the roads were paved over. However, most of the paths, connecting Rome with other cities, are still the same route. In the same way as today, the Romans used the roads for traveling and communication.
