In Texas, Antonio López de Santa Anna is most notably known for defeating heroic men such as, James Bowie and Davy Crockett, in a thirteen day war, at the Alamo, a former french mission in 1836. What uninformed readers may not know is that Santa Anna ruled through eleven presidential terms, a combined total of twenty-two years. In this research paper, readers will be informed about the early life of Santa Anna, the wars he fought in, and his impact on Texas. Antonio López de Santa Anna was born in Vera Cruz, on February 21, 1794. Santa Anna’s parents were Antonio Lafaye de Santa Anna and Manuela Perez de Lebron.
In 1823, Mexico passed the General Colonization Law opening Texas to colonization and presenting impresario grants to individuals hoping to help encourage settlement and economic growth in the remote Mexican land of Texas. The Mexican government, later on, adopted the Constitution of 1824 making Texas joined with Mexico as part of the larger state of Coahuila y Tejas. The Hero’s Journey of Texas History: Revolution and Republic In Texas History, there is nothing more well known than the Alamo and the Texas revolution. Almost everyone has heard the stories of Davy Crockett and his coonskin cap, or Jim Bowie and his famous Bowie knife. The Texas revolution was full of so many Texas legends and larger than life characters, so it only makes sense that the Hero’s Journey, a literary trope all about heroes overcoming obstacles, would apply to the riveting events of the Texas revolution. The start of the long journey that is the Texas revolution starts in the ordinary world, the first stage in the Hero’s Journey.
In Texas during the 1800s, there were many Native American tribes and different settlers competing for land in the same areas. In northwestern Texas, the Comanche and Texans happened to be there at the same time. Throughout the years, the Comanche and Texans had constant clashes with each other, resulting in fights, raiding and even war. The Comanche and the Texans had very different views on culture, relationships with other tribes and settlers, and ways of life, which resulted in many difficulties establishing peace between the two, eventually leading to war.

The Texas Revolution has played a massive role in Texas history. In fact, without it, Texas wouldn’t be Texas! But, why was there a Texas Revolution to start with? In this essay, we will be discussing why there was a Texas Revolution and who was there to start it.
The political scene in Texas for the past twenty years has been consistently geared to one side (the right) and I do not see it changing anytime soon. This last presidential election was the most controversial and divided this country has seen in decades and if a change was going to happen, it would have happened this cycle. As the Texas counties started submitting their total vote counts for the presidency, the only counties that went blue were the counties with the major Texas cities in them, i.e. Austin and Dallas. The rest of the state stayed red. This trend hasn’t been uncommon.
People were using nature to provide them with the things they needed. Technology improvements were also being used to provide food. For example, better water and windmills helped increase the food supply. Learning improvements were also being improved. Civilizations were opening new schools and learning new things about different subjects such as math and the world (Science).
The biggest issue in Texas is the over population of children. Texas also has the second highest number of elementary schools due to the amount of children needing education. At this rate, the number of schools will increase and it will become more intense to fund each school. The problem with the overpopulation is that 1.7 million children live in poverty and many of them are segregated in poor neighborhoods. Along with poor neighborhoods, schools also come into play with inefficient resources for the students.
Although my family went through tough situations to get to America and live in a stable economy my shyness has impacted me and those around me by . My family came here from Mexico which is a tough country to live. My mother and father didn't want to have a family in mexico because there's a lot of horrible things that happen their like gang related activity, drugs, and prostitution. They didn't want to raise kids in that type of community so they packed their bags and traveled to America because they heard their was a better future for kids and good education. They were also trying to own better resources and have a better stable life.
