Downfall of Romeo and Juliet Characters Romeo and Juliet is a story about a pair of star crossed lovers who take their life at the end of their story to deal with the fact they cannot be together due to the feud became their families. Throughout the story of Romeo and Juliet, we see the death of Tybalt, Romeo, and Juliet. But why and how did these characters flaws led to their downfall? Where did they go wrong? In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, impulsiveness love, loyalty and the family feud is the downfall of Romeo, Juliet, and Tybalt. To start off, the family feud caused Romeo to be banished. Romeo tried to be kind of Tybalt and didn’t want to fight him due to Romeo being married to Juliet. But Tybalt kills Mercutio, a good friend of Romeo. Romeo avenges Mercutio by killing Tybalt. This fight was caused because of the family feud. Tybalt would never had fought Romeo in the first place if it wasn’t the family feud.
