The story of Romeo and Juliet causes sadness for many who read it because of the characters’ tragic death. This story is unlike many written about two young lovers. Both main characters die and one must wonder who was to blame for their death. The Montagues and the Capulets have had an ancient rivalry and have brought chaos to the city of Verona. Some may say Romeo caused his own and Juliet's death because he could have held back from killing Tybalt after Tybalt killed Romeo's lifelong friend Mercutio. However, Juliet's father stressed her out with marriage, assaulting Juliet and his wife, and Tybalt was also partly to blame because Romeo was being peaceful, and Tybalt still showed no mercy. For these reasons, Lord Capulet and Tybalt are the most at fault for Romeo and Juliet's death. Lord Capulet indirectly caused the death of Juliet. Lord Capulet made a deal with Paris to marry Juliet in 2 days' time without Juliet's knowledge or consent. Juliet has shown that she doesn't want to marry Paris, and that she doesn't like him. He may have indirectly caused the death of Juliet, but he despised Romeo with his whole heart. Tybalt was seen as an aggressive person in the movie. He would think in the moment and not think about what consequences his actions will have. Like when he was looking for Romeo to kill him for coming to Lord Capulet's house party. Romeo held back from fighting Tybalt because 2 hours ago he and Tybalt were family. Although Romeo was peaceful, Tybalt showed no mercy, and eventually Mercutio stepped in and got killed by Tybalt. This causes Romeo to go chase down Tybalt and without thinking about the consequences, shoots and kills Tybalt.
