Being a woman in modern day America is difficult: from constant sexual harassment, societal norms, and facing inequality in the workforce. It comes as no surprise that these issues have existed since before the civil war and has been rooted in the American tradition for years. After the market revolution there were the first strides towards women equality that would eventually begin to change the role of women as they had begun to see new freedoms.

As a result of the market revolution giving women more job opportunities, consumerism had developed into a stronger factor economically. Despite the horrible working conditions, women were still earning a wage that gave them enough to spend on their own. When

women started working Do to consumerism and the new freedom women were given they were now able to buy things they needed on their own like clothes, shoes, food, etc. with this causing the economy to excel positively greatly.

Next, another outcome of the market revolution was the realization of what women needed to know. Woman realized that no matter what social or economic status they held they needed to have a proper education. Women believed that education could help endure poverty
