While the transactional leaders is best approach in maximizing operational efficiency, it can also fall short in the areas of innovation, long-term strategy creation and employee development. This disadvantages is a minor factor but they must not be neglected. They can cause a major stir in the nursing process. One disadvantage in the transactional leadership will be the motivation in giving rewards for those who work hard in the department. Not all employee will be happy in receiving a rewards. This kind of system will not work for everyone.
