Invention is about making new items or finding new ways to make items. Innovation on the other hand is about bringing the new idea to the market by turning an invention into a product.
I have chosen to use the business Dixons milk ices, a local ice cream shop located in Lockwood and on Leeds road, Huddersfield. Dixons is a family run business that has produced milk ices in Huddersfield since 1961. Innovation and invention has been extremely important for this business as it has led to their success and popularity over time. It is also important as Dixons has a lot of competitors so it has to be ready to compete and sell their products to the public who have a range of businesses to choose from. However due to Dixons amazing ice cream inventions it has been extremely popular for people in Huddersfield and the ice cream has a flavour that is hard to forget.

For example shops such as Ice stones have been recently introduced in Huddersfield and because of this Dixons could be losing its customers. It is extremely important for Dixons to use innovation as they need to introduce new products to that they don’t lose customers who may have become bored with the same products. For example ice stones has a wide range of products on their menu such as, ice cream, cakes, milkshakes and other products as such. In my opinion I think that Dixons may need to introduce new products so that customers are not fed up with same flavours, however I also think that Dixons may not need to do this as their products are still popular and demanded for by many people.
