Character Analysis Questions Title: Treasure Island Author: Robert Louis Stevenson Question 1: In the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, how does Jim change after Billy Bones dies ? Use textual support. Billy Bones' death was a big turning point for Jim. At first Jim was very melancholy because it was the second death he had known (Stevenson 31). Since Billy Bones was dead, Jim and his mom no longer would be safe in their house because of Black Dog and the Beggar. They would be coming after Billy Bones’ treasure chest in the inn. The first change would be that Billy Bones would help Jim and his mother protect the inn from Black Dog and the beggar sense they are coming later that night (30). Sense there are three of them and Billy Bones knows these people a little bit they would have won or scare them off enough that they would never come back. The second change would be that Jim would probably not get the treasure map and go on the adventure. He would not become wealthy and would stay a timid and non adventures boy. He would keep his plain non adventures life that never changes. Instead he would also continue being a busboy at his moms inn. The third change would be that Jim would still be caring for Billy Bones until he is well again since he was already in an unstable position and barely had enough stability to fight. The reason Billy Bones would be able to fight is because he would have to be in a stable enough position to survive. Jim's life would stay almost the same, most likely until something did actually happen. This means he would still be non plunky, a touch timid, and
